Location

A vast tract of land has been allocated by the Bible Valley Society (NPO)
for one of the most significant tourist
and educational projects ever conceived of in the Land of Israel.
Located in the Judean plain, inside Israel of the green line,
it borders on the Jerusalem hills area, just south of the capital of Israel and near Bet Shemesh.

Covering a vast territory of some 100,000 dunams of land (approximately 25,000 acres), it consists of a continuous range of hills and valleys with natural groves and orchards, some of which are hundreds of years old.  It also contains recently planted forests and groves, agricultural land, animal farming and ruins of ancient farming and irrigation systems, which go back 2-3,000 years.  The area is extremely rich in archeological and material remains from the biblical period and contains 161 known archeological sites with remains of ancient settlements, many of which have yet to be excavated.

The site and surrounding area is awash with the stories from the Bible, such as Samson, David and Goliath, the route up to Jerusalem of the Ark of the Covenant, Sennacherib and Nebuchadnezzar —all of which, and many more, took place in this very landscape some 2,000 to 4,000 years ago. The age-old prophesies of Amos and Micah still resound from the nearby hills where they were first heard in the 6th century BCE.  One can also picture the beautiful and touching story of Ruth and Naomi taking place in a pastoral setting much like this.

Bible Valley is situated geographically in an ideal location. On the one hand, it’s rather isolated and undisturbed by the bustle of modern life. Yet, on the other hand, it’s easily accessible from three metropolitan areas: Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Beersheba—only about a 40 minute drive from each.

The site is surrounded by mature JNF forests, which, together with surrounding Kibbutzim and Moshavim, form a unique continuous geographical range specially designed to accommodate the development and erection of Bible Valley.
